Firefighters responding to two-alarm blaze at Gaithersburg home

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) crews are responding to a two-alarm fire at a home in Gaithersburg, according to radio transmissions.

MCFRS crews first responded to the report of a house fire on the 18700 block of Calypso Place in Gaithersburg at roughly 5:35 p.m., according to transmissions. Crews said on radio transmissions that the fire was located at the back of the house and that there was a “heavy column of smoke” that could be seen from MCFRS Fire Station 8, located at 801 Russell Ave. in Gaithersburg.

A second alarm was called at roughly 5:40 p.m. According to radio transmissions, all the occupants have been accounted for. Crews said at roughly 5:40 p.m. that the home was a split-level single-family home and there was heavy fire through the ceiling and roof…
