FALLS CHURCH, Va. (DC News Now) — A Virginia father is facing a murder charge after he was accused of hitting his 3-month-old baby daughter, resulting in her death.
Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano announced Monday that Misael Lopez Gomez was indicted by a grand jury on aggravated murder charges and felony child abuse for the death of his baby girl.
The incident occurred on March 27 at their home in Falls Church.

Descano said that during a preliminary hearing in the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court in early July, a medical examiner for Virginia testified that the baby’s injuries led to her death.
