Storms, flooding cause road buckling in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — Police said that a bridge partially collapsed in Montgomery County following severe weather on Tuesday.

In a post Tuesday evening, the Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD) said that the weather and flooding had caused a bridge on northbound Woodfield Road before Brink Road to partially collapse.

As of 8:15 p.m., the road was closed. MCPD said that crews were responding with an electronic message board to announce the closure.

In an update at 8:50 p.m., MCPD said that fire and rescue crews had found road buckling on Woodfield Road. The bridge between Brink Road and Exodus Road was closed…
