Residents filled Chantilly High School’s auditorium on July 16 to hear the controversial plans to redevelop the land that Chantilly Regional Library sits on, including demolishing the current library to build a new one and adding affordable housing units.
“This project is one way the county can use public land thoughtfully to support housing, public facilities, and long-term community benefit. Your feedback tonight will help shape the issue staff considers as the project moves forward,” said Sully District Supervisor Kathy Smith
According to Kimberly Callahan, Housing and Community Development project manager and panelist at the meeting, a $53 million bond was approved for the Fairfax County Capital Improvement Program earlier this year.
