A man who fled from pursuing Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Sterling on July 22 was detained by Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office deputies July 24 at the county courthouse and turned over to ICE.
A viral video obtained by Loudoun Now shows a pickup truck being pursued by unmarked police vehicles turn onto Sherwood Court in Sterling on the morning of July 22. The occupants of the truck jump out, leaving the truck to roll down a hill and strike the front of a townhome, causing minimal damage and no injuries.
Photos from the scene show ICE agents were the ones in the unmarked cars. County Chair Phyllis Randall said in a Facebook post that Loudoun County Sheriff’s deputies responded to handle the crash investigation but were unaware of the ICE operation before the crash happened.
