FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (7News) — 7 News is speaking with Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger about the case of an alleged killer who was let out of jail by the Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney and hopped on a plane to his home country of Tajikistan.
The suspect was first charged back in 2019 and then was found not guilty by reason of insanity.
“How do we ensure this doesn’t happen again?” she asked Wednesday. “I think there needs to be lot more clarity based on release for weekend leave when they are otherwise supposed to be receiving 24-hour psychiatric care based on heinous crimes.”…
