Nearly half a dozen Fairfax County Public Schools students — either walking or commuting by bike or e-scooter — have been hit by cars in separate accidents, including three that happened on the same day, one of which resulted in a student’s death.
The string of incidents, occurring just three weeks into the new school year, is renewing outrage over the county’s May decision to remove all crossing guards at the district’s high schools to offset spending increases elsewhere.
