Fairfax County, Virginia, police are stepping up enforcement across the county after officers observed several close calls involving drivers making right turns and nearly hitting bicyclists, pedestrians and scooter riders.
The Operation Safe Right Turn initiative will focus on drivers who fail to yield to people in crosswalks. According to Fairfax County police, some motorists turning right on green lights are not paying attention to people in the crosswalk.
