WASHINGTON(7News) — If you are heading from D.C., Maryland or Virginia to Ocean City for Oceans Calling, bring the music-festival energy—but pack for weather that will feel more like late October than late September.
The biggest weather concern comes before the festival begins. Coastal flooding and beach erosion are possible through Thursday, especially near bays, shorelines and tidal waterways. Some low-lying roads could flood, so allow extra travel time and never drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth.
Conditions start to improve just in time for Friday’s concerts, but the wind will be the headline. Gusts could reach 40 mph Friday, then remain gusty near 30 mph Saturday and Sunday. That can mean some blowing sand along the beach and a noticeably cooler feel near the stages.
