6 accounted for after jet skis flip in Potomac River in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — Six accidental swimmers are safe and out of the waters of the Potomac River Friday after their jet skis flipped over in Montgomery County, according to officials.

In a post to X around 3:30 p.m., spokesperson Pete Piringer for the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) said swift water rescue boats and helicopters were dispatched to the report of six people in the water in distress.

In a later update, Piringer said all six people were accounted for and that a swift water boat was at the scene in contact with the people involved. No one was injured.
