PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (7News) — The man accused of decapitating an Iwo Jima statue in Quantico is in the U.S. illegally, according to federal sources.
Prince William County investigators said Miguel Alonso Maldonado Soriano used a sledgehammer on the statue near the intersection of Richmond Highway and Fuller Road on Wednesday night, removing the head from one figure and damaging the face of another. Officers said they caught the man in the act.
