The snowstorm known as “Snomageddon” began 14 years ago today (February 5-6, 2010), according to a reminder by the National Weather Service (NWS). Per the NWS: “A strong Nor’easter brought blizzard conditions & record amounts of snow. Totals were greater than 20″ across northern Virginia & Maryland (Dulles measured 32.4″).” The storm knocked out power to more than 81,000 Pepco customers in Montgomery County at one point.
