Maryland lawmaker introduces bill to protect babies from toxic metals in food

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (SOA) – There’s new momentum to protect babies from toxic heavy metals in food. A Maryland lawmaker is introducing legislation – HB 97, known as “Rudy’s Law” for one of the children recently poisoned by lead – that would require baby food to be tested for toxic heavy metals, like lead and arsenic, before it hits the shelves. The effort was inspired by years of reporting by Spotlight on America.
