Soaking On & Off Rain Remains in Pennsylvania & Virginia

Good morning everyone. Things are beginning to settle down across the Mid-Atlantic, while the Northeast remains quiet and cool.
We have a mix of sun and clouds today and tomorrow across a wide area of New York and New Jersey, then we’ll start to see more sunshine on Thursday. That’ll also help boost temps back into the 70’s, and that mild air will stay into the weekend. In Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Maryland, soaking on & off rain remains in the area thanks to what’s left of our tropical system.
Our focus today is across parts of Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio as a cold fronts sweeps on by and will help kick out the remnants of our tropical energy stuck in the Mid-Atlantic. However, it’ll come at a cost in the form of a gust front possible across the Great Lakes region.
While we don’t expect any widespread severe weather, we could see some locally damaging winds as this front passes by. In areas of northern Indiana, northern Ohio, and eastern Michigan, winds could near the 50mph mark with this narrow band of heavy thunderstorms. Look for the possibility of brief strong winds, frequent lightning, small hail, and torrential rain this afternoon & evening.
