DC police investigating theft at school in Southeast

WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — D.C. police have released surveillance camera footage after a person allegedly entered a school building and stole property in Southeast last month.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), on Friday, Sept. 27, a man was caught on video entering a school building in the 900 block of Whaler Place around 4 a.m.

In the video, the man can be seen walking around the school. He was dressed in dark clothing with a blue rag covering his head.

DC police seek help finding dog stolen from Southwest home

Police said the man allegedly stole property from a classroom before leaving the building.

At this time, it is unknown what the man took.

MPD encouraged anyone who can identify the man or knows more information about the incident to call 202-727-9099 or text 50411.

Police are offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest and indictment in this case.
