Driver injured after crashing into pole in Fairfax County

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. ( DC News Now ) — Police in Fairfax County said a driver was in the hospital Monday after they rammed into a utility pole.

In a post on X around 8 a.m. on Oct. 28, the Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) said officers were on the scene of a crash at Mount Vernon Memorial Highway and Old Mill Road.

Police said the driver crashed into a pole and was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

As crews work on repairs, the road is expected to be closed for an extended period.

Drivers are encouraged to use alternative routes until the crash is cleared.
