Two Delaware men who were fatally wounded during a fight north of Elkton, Maryland, over the weekend have been identified by police.
Tamir Rasheek Davis of New Castle and Darius Anthony Blalock of Bear – both 26 years old – died as a result of a shooting that involved four people early Saturday in the first block of Chestnut Drive, according to a Maryland State Police statement. Another man and woman survived the shooting.
Police have not provided residential information about the surviving victims.
The victims, according to police, were inside a home on Chestnut Drive when a fight broke out. The altercation then moved outside the house, and that’s when police said an unknown person left the house and started firing shots into a crowd that had formed.
Following the gunfire, the crowd broke up, with some fleeing the area and some being taken to area hospitals.
Police were dispatched to the area shortly after 6 a.m. for a report of a man lying in the roadway. Officers found the man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to Christiana Hospital for medical care.
