Hundreds of hunters took to Maryland’s woods to kill a bear this season, but the state’s Department of Natural Resources said some tried to do it illegally. Bear bating is illegal in Maryland and nine men were charged with baiting bears in order to kill them. The incidents took place in Allegany, Frederick, Garrett and Washington counties.
