Fairfax County police charge 7 teens connected to violent crime spree

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. ( DC News Now ) — Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) officers arrested and charged seven teens in connection to a violent crime spree spanning through the county.

On Sept. 18, a group burgled a gun store in Springfield. Investigators said the group stole a KIA Soul and used the vehicle to smash the glass door at Dominion Defense. They took 14 firearms from the store.

While investigating that incident, detectives linked a group of suspects to a series of other incidents in the area.

Also that night, a 19-year-old was shot nearby. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Detectives linked the group to the shooting.

The group also allegedly shot at occupied homes, on Sept. 19 near the 7700 block of Matiase Way and on Sept. 21 near the 7800 block of Lambkin Ct.

School officials alerted police of a student being abducted and assaulted off campus, near the 12000 block of Stuart Ridge Dr. Investigators linked a video of the incident to the suspects in the other incidents.
