Hispanic students delve into democracy through PRHYLI with trips to D.C. and Albany

ALBANY, N.Y. (WRGB) – Over the summer, the latest group of high school PRHYLI students returned to their districts from trips to Washington, D.C. and Mount Vernon, getting a firsthand look at the functions of democracy. But for these Hispanic students, many of whom immigrated to the U.S., their appreciation for law and government holds deeper meaning, with an opportunity to advance the voices of everyday citizens through civic engagement and debate.
