FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. ( DC News Now ) — The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) said it is investigating after a truck hit and killed a 3-year-old child in Chantilly on Saturday.
According to the department, officers received a call about the child struck in the 4200 block of Airline Parkway, a residential neighborhood, at around 3:50 p.m.
There, police found that a truck hit a 3-year-old child in the roadway.
The child died there.

Police told DC News Now that children in the neighborhood were out playing when the crash happened.
Police also said the driver of the truck stayed at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
