COTTAGE CITY, Md. An Uber driver who was shot multiple times on New Year’s Day in Cottage City has died from his injuries, authorities said.

Prince George’s County Police identified the victim as 36-year-old Oluwatosin Adetula of Hyattsville.

Adetula was working as a rideshare driver when he was shot around 10:40 p.m. on January 1 in the 3300 block of Bladensburg Road. Officers found him in a parking lot suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries six days later, on January 7.
