WASHINGTON — A shooting in D.C.’s NoMa neighborhood has left one man dead and three police officers hospitalized.
The shooting was reported at an apartment complex in the 300 block of Florida Avenue Northeast around 5:30 a.m. That’s not far from the NoMa-Gallaudet Metro station. Police say all officers were taken to the hospital were conscious and breathing. Police have not identified the man killed.
Officers responded to the apartments after reports of shots fired in the lobby. Once there, officers encountered the man who jumped into an elevator, at first getting away from law enforcement. That man eventually came back down the elevator where he was met by three officers in the lobby of the building. This is when the man pulled out a gun and fired shots, to which police responded with their own gunfire, shooting and killing the man…
