Fire department says house fire was likely caused by recharging batteries

POTOMAC, Md. — A house fire Wednesday night was likely caused by recharging batteries, the fire department said.

The fire started in a detached garage and spread to the exterior of the house. Montgomery County Fire and Rescue responded to the house at 9400 Holbrook Drive off Falls Road in Potomac around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. No one was injured in the fire. The fire department estimated the damage will cost more than $200,000 to repair…
