STAFFORD, Va. — A 60-year-old New York man who was already wanted in Fairfax County was arrested after the sheriff’s office said he stole a suitcase full of women’s clothing and leading deputies on a short pursuit in Stafford County.
According to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the T.J. Maxx on Stafford Market Place around 8:30 p.m. on Friday. A witness told authorities that a man had run out of the store with a suitcase filled with merchandise and gave a description of the suspect’s car as it left the area.
Deputies located the vehicle nearby and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. The sheriff’s office said the driver failed to stop and began driving away at speeds exceeding 60 miles per hour along Garrisonville Road, running two red lights along the way.
