FAIRFAX, Va. — Weapons scanners will become permanent at West Potomac High School after a student was stabbed during a fight between classes.
According to Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis, a 15-year-old stabbed a 16-year-old inside West Potomac High School just before 9:45 a.m. on April 23. When help arrived, they found the injured teen had multiple stab wounds. He was taken to a nearby hospital with critical injuries.
The day of the incident, school officials announced that weapon scanners would be placed on campus to give an “additional layer of security.” However, those weapon scanners were gone after one day, leaving parents and students confused and frustrated…
