ICE Arrests Honduran National in Fairfax After Virginia Court Drops Serious Charges

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has taken custody of Hyrum Baquedano-Rodriguez, a Honduran national previously facing serious criminal charges in Virginia. ICE officials reported the arrest occurred on May 2 in Fairfax, after local authorities dropped charges against Baquedano-Rodriguez for abduction and burglary, which included the intent to commit offenses like murder and rape.

According to ICE, Baquedano-Rodriguez was initially apprehended by U.S. Border Patrol back on August 25, 2018, following his illegal entry into the country near Yuma, Arizona. Released on an immigration bond by a DOJ immigration judge in Eloy, Arizona, on January 22, 2019, his presence in the U.S. has been under legal scrutiny ever since. Later on, issued with a notice to appear before an immigration judge, he became entangled with the law on multiple occasions.

Following his initial arrest related to immigration status, Fairfax County Police later arrested Baquedano-Rodriguez on November 9, 2021, on three counts of indecent liberties and indecent exposure, as affirmed in a statement by Virginia Gov.
