LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. ( DC News Now ) — Loudoun County officials said that unattended cooking caused a fire that displaced two people in Leesburg on Monday.
The Loudoun County Fire and Rescue Service (LCFR) said that around 2 p.m., the county’s Emergency Communications Center got several 9-1-1 calls about a house fire in the 1800 block of Harbour Town Terrace.

Crews responded and saw “heavy smoke and fire” showing from the first and second floors of a single-family home. The two residents had already evacuated after hearing their smoke alarms.
