Car fire leaves person hospitalized in Fairfax County

LORTON, Va. — A driver was hospitalized after a car fire in Fairfax County Monday morning, and firefighters are still working to learn how it happened.

According to Fairfax County Fire Department spokesperson Mitch Clark, crews were called to the 9800 block of Old Colchester Road in Lorton around 10:45 a.m. When firefighters got on scene, they found a car ablaze, and a person outside the car was also on fire.

The individual was flown to the burn center in critical condition. Firefighters on scene were able to quickly extinguish the car fire. No other injuries were reported…
