Scooter Battery Fire Sparks Early Morning Apartment Blaze

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a 3rd-floor apartment fire at 3814 Bel Pre Rd in Silver Spring around 3:55 a.m. on Saturday, June 7 after a scooter battery caught fire.

According to MCFRS Spokesperson David Pazos, a family member heard a pop and discovered the fire, prompting the smoke alarm to activate. The large family exited safely and called 911. We will provide an update if additional verified information becomes available.
