GERMANTOWN, Md. (DC News Now) — Officers rescued a missing 8-year-old girl with autism earlier this month after good Samaritans reported seeing her running through traffic in Montgomery County.
The rescue happened on the evening of Wednesday, June 4, after the girl’s mother called 911 to report her missing from their home. While officers searched the area, multiple bystanders called to report seeing a child running through traffic near Middlebrook and Frederick roads, according to the Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD).
Body camera footage shared by MCPD on social media Friday morning shows one of the officers holding the girl after finding her running in the area, as another officer tells the girl, “We’re gonna get you home, OK sweetie?”…
