Family escapes safely as fire engulfs home in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (7News) — A family was left without a place to go after their home went up in flames on Sunday in Montgomery County, Maryland.

The fire erupted around 7 a.m. on the rear deck of the home, which sits on Pepper Ridge Way in the Mineral Springs Village neighborhood, according to the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS).

The family of four was able to get out of the house safely as the fire started spreading to the side and attic, MCFRS said. The bulk of the fire was knocked down in about 10 minutes…
