ANNAPOLIS, Md. (7News) — Betsy Fox Tolentino has devoted her career to working with kids who get in trouble. She was a public defender and previously spent more than a decade at the Maryland Department of Juvenile Services (DJS).
Now, one month into her job as acting secretary of DJS, she says she is making changes to better help those young people.
“We need to make sure that we’re operating the system in alignment with our statutory framework, that we are equipping our frontline staff with what they need, that in the end we’re getting kids what they need to be able to reach their goals and be successful,” Tolentino said…
