Woman arrested after hit-and-run involving police cruiser in Manassas

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — A woman was taken into custody more than two weeks after she was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run with a police cruiser in Manassas, according to police.

The Prince William County Police Department said that 21-year-old Jessica Rivera-Vanegas was wanted for felony hit-and-run, reckless driving, felony eluding, possession and more.

The charges stemmed from a June 23 incident in the 10400 block of Sudley Manor Drive, where officers found Rivera-Vanegas sitting in a car behind a business.

During the encounter, police said they noticed suspected illegal narcotics. However, as officers continued their investigation, Rivera-Vanegas allegedly reversed the car into the officer’s cruiser, before driving away. The officers were not injured during the collision…
