Dulles Airport celebrates milestone with final beam installation at new concourse

DULLES, Va. (7News) — Dulles International Airport is installing the final beam to Concourse E on Thursday, marking a major milestone in the construction process.

The 435,000-square-foot concourse will feature 14 gates, enabling modern and expansive airline operations.

The installation of the last beam or “topping out” is a turning point for the workers. Approximately 350 construction employees contributed to the construction and will be in attendance when the beam is installed at 10 a.m. on Thursday. Derek Brown, Vice President and Construction Executive of Turner Construction, and Richard Golinowski, Vice President of Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, will also be there to oversee the “topping out.”…
