Legal marijuana sales in Maryland reached $97,470,862 in June, bringing the state’s year-to-date total to $578.16 million, according to new data released by the Maryland Cannabis Administration.
Although slightly below the record-breaking $102.7 million sold in May, June’s total remains one of the highest since adult-use sales began in July 2023. Adult-use purchases continued to dominate, with flower once again leading all product categories at $55 million in sales. Concentrates followed at $29 million, while edibles accounted for $11.7 million. The remainder came from other products such as tinctures, topicals, and capsules. The $578 million sold in the first half of 2025 is a 4% increase over the $556 million sold during the same period in 2024.
The average price per gram in June was $8.40, a modest dip from May’s $8.57.
Maryland voters approved marijuana legalization in 2022, with adult-use sales launching the following summer. Recreational marijuana purchases are subject to a 9% state tax, with municipalities authorized to tack on an additional 3%. Medical marijuana remains exempt from taxation…
