Man wanted in Fairfax County hit-and-run arrested in Stafford

STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — A man wanted out of Fairfax County on a felony hit-and-run charge was arrested Tuesday in Stafford County, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said at 10:18 a.m., a Nissan was seen drifting out of its lane on I-95 Southbound near mile-marker 136, resulting in another driver swerving onto the shoulder to avoid a collision.

When a deputy drove alongside the Nissan, they noticed the driver’s eyes were closed, prompting a traffic stop. During the stop, the driver, identified as 29-year-old Luke Williamson, was showing signs of intoxication and questioned the reason for being pulled over.

An initial investigation discovered that Williamson was being sought in Fairfax County for a felony hit-and-run charge and had been previously convicted of a DUI in 2018…
