Man dies after being shot multiple times in Southeast, DC police say

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Police in the District are investigating after a shooting in the Congress Heights area left one person dead and another injured late Saturday night.

Just after 11:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to a shooting in the 2700 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., SE. Once there, police found two men suffering from gunshot wounds, according to the Metropolitan Police department.

Responding officers noted that one of the men was not conscious or breathing. Medics rushed to the scene and tried to save him, but he was pronounced dead.
