Roughly 7,600 Manassas City Public Schools students head back to the classroom Tuesday.
The school system’s nine schools hosted open houses for students and families in the last few days in the lead-up to the big day. Here are some snippets of what students and families can expect for the 2025-2026 school year:
The school division continues to offer free meals to students.The school system has placed a renewed emphasis on career and technical education over the last several years, with more opportunities for students coming this school year.Two new courses are available to students next year in the career and technical education realm: advanced coding and technical drawing, which will be a prerequisite course for the architectural drawing course already offered.In a late-April School Board meeting, the division said it was working to implement an aviation-focused work-based learning experience for students in the 2025-26 school year.In addition to creating more opportunities for an aviation pathway, the division said it was looking to grow more opportunities in HVAC, welding and electrical work…
