Loudoun County Fire Rescue mourns loss of longtime captain who died from cancer

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. (7News) — Loudoun County fire officials, community members, and loved ones are mourning the loss of Captain Dannie Wilson, who died on Sunday following a battle with cancer.

Wilson, a veteran of the Loudoun County Combined Fire and Rescue system, served the department and the community for more than 25 years, according to Loudoun County Fire & EMS.

“It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Captain Dannie Wilson after a courageous fight with cancer,” the fire department said in a statement. “Please keep Captain Wilson’s family, friends, and colleagues in your thoughts as we mourn this tremendous loss.”…
