More information is emerging in the case of a handcuffed prisoner’s escape from Leesburg Police Friday night, leading to a nine-hour manhunt that ended in his capture early Saturday morning.
Around 10:43 p.m. Aug. 29, Leesburg Police officers arrested Tazi Keon Hardin, 21, of Brambleton, on charges of grand larceny. The charges stemmed from an Aug. 26 incident on East Market Street. There, Hardin picked up a set of dropped keys off the ground in a parking lot and used the to locate and unlock the victim’s vehicle. Hardin drove away with the car, which was later found nearby.
The theft was caught on video and officers identified Hardin as the suspect. While on an unrelated call Aug. 29, officers recognized Hardin and placed him in handcuffs. While officers were searching him, Hardin “pushed off another officer and began to flee from units,” according to a criminal complaint filed in Loudoun County General District Court…
