Candle blamed for starting Sterling house fire, leaving family displaced

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — A family of four is without a place to call home after an unattended candle sparked a large fire Tuesday night.

The fire broke out just after 9 p.m. on Sept. 2, at a house in the 100 block of N. Sequolia Court in Sterling.

According to the Loudoun County Combined Fire and Rescue System, several units from across the county were dispatched to the house.

There, crews found the back of a home engulfed in flames. A Rapid Response Taskforce was requested to the scene to battle the blaze.
