Latino Population Grew 31.4% Since 2010, Now 20.5% of Residents; County to Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month

Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich will lead events for National Hispanic Heritage Month from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, highlighting the county’s Latino population, which grew 31.4% since 2010 and now represents 20.5% of residents.

Per the news release: “Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich will participate in several special events from Sept. 15 through Oct. 15 as the County observes “National Hispanic Heritage Month.” The events will honor Latino and Hispanic immigrants who are making significant contributions to their communities.

National Hispanic Heritage Month recognizes the history, culture and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans in the United States. According to the 2020 Census, the Latino population in Montgomery County increased by 31.4% since 2010, making Hispanics or Latinos 20.5% (217,409) of the County’s total population…
