Maryland Encourages Residents to Go Car Free on Sept. 22

The Maryland Transit Administration will offer free systemwide rides on Monday, September 22, in celebration of World Car-Free Day, encouraging residents to use public transit instead of driving.

Per the news release: “The Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration is celebrating World Car-Free Day with free rides systemwide on Monday, September 22. The agency is encouraging the public to choose to travel by bus or train instead of driving. This year the public can make the most out of Car Free Day by taking transit to work or school in the morning and then taking transit to Ravens Monday Night Football home game against the Detroit Lions.

“Car Free Day is a reminder that transit is one of the most enjoyable and stress-free ways to get around,” said Maryland Transit Administrator Holly Arnold. “By choosing public transit over car travel, you help to improve our environment by reducing emissions and ease congestion on our roads.”…
