Colgan High School sophomore Candis King, daughter of state Del. Candi Mundon King and Fairfax County deputy sheriff Joshua King, died over the weekend after battling sickle cell disease.
Del. King and her family released a statement on their daughter’s death Monday.
“Candis lived a beautiful life and had just celebrated her 15th birthday,” the family’s statement reads. “She was a talented singer and dancer, a proud member of her high school’s Color Guard, and she had a special love for Transformers. Above all, she was deeply loved and cherished by her family.”…
