FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (7News) — The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors voted on Tuesday to extend the deadline for residents to pay personal property taxes, which includes the annual car tax, from Oct. 6, 2025, to Nov. 5, 2025.
“Fairfax County is home to tens of thousands of federal employees and contractors who are directly impacted by the government shutdown,” Supervisor Andres Jimenez said. “By extending the personal property tax deadline, the Board is taking a practical step to provide relief for residents who are temporarily without income. Our goal is to ensure families have the flexibility they need to manage essential expenses during this difficult time.”
