My Maryland resident Ian Andre Roberts was arrested by ICE after allegedly fleeing a traffic stop. Iowa authorities arrested Roberts on a fugitive warrant, finding a loaded Glock 19, a hunting knife, and $3,000 in his vehicle. ICE reported he entered the U.S. on a student visa and had a final removal order. Delegate Matt Morgan criticized the State Board of Elections over automatic voter registration linked to Roberts, as well as his Democratic listing. The Board reported that Roberts has no voting history and denied the DOJ’s request for his full voter file, but critics have condemned the state’s Democratic leaders for remaining silent on the issue.
Maryland Elections Administrator Jared DeMarinis said, “No One by that name has ever voted in the state of Maryland. As to the identity of the person, we cannot verify whether that is a registered voter or not in the state of Maryland, but with public records, we can say no one by that name has voted in the state.”
DeMarinis added, “Maryland has made it a policy determination to enfranchise as many people as possible so they tried to remove as many barriers as possible to that enfranchisement.”…
