Montgomery County fraudster faked documents to steal $39K in COVID-19 relief funds

ROCKVILLE, Md. (7News) — A person in Maryland is accused of stealing thousands of dollars in COVID-19 rental assistance funds.

The applicant submitted fake documents and other fraudulent information that made it seem they were eligible for the COVID-19 Rental Relief Program (CRRP), according to Montgomery County Inspector General Megan Davey Limarzi.

The person ended up getting $39,250 in program benefits…
