BRISTOW, Va. (DC News Now) — Prince William County police are investigating after a Saturday night crash in Bristow left a 19-year-old motorcyclist dead.
Officers responded to the crash just before 8 p.m. on Nov. 1, in the area of Linton Hall Road and Nokesville Road. There, investigators learned that an officer was conducting speed enforcement near Nokesville Road and Stadler Place when they saw a 2004 Kawasaki ZX-6R speeding south, according to the Prince William County Police Department.
As the officer began to activate their lights, the driver of the motorcycle, identified as Edwin Essiaw of Manassas, reportedly turned off their lights and “accelerated rapidly” on Nokesville Road approaching Linton Hall Road.
