Former Maryland Health Police Captain pleads guilty to misconduct in office

BALTIMORE, MD—The Maryland State Prosecutor’s Office has announced that former Maryland Department of Health (MDH) Police Captain Astarte Hunt has pleaded guilty to two counts of Misconduct in Office.

State Prosecutor Charlton T. Howard III made the announcement , confirming that Hunt, who served with the MDH Police Department since 2016 and was promoted to Captain in 2022, misused both official time and a State-owned vehicle.
